Funding Reports - Pupil Premium & Recovery Premium

At Great Baddow High School we have high aspirations for all of our students. We believe that they should all be given the opportunity to flourish and reach their full potential regardless of their background and prior attainment.

Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium Funding

The Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium funding is made available to us to help improve the attainment of our disadvantaged students.

Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds face extra challenges in reaching their potential and often do not perform as well as their peers.

The Pupil Premium grant is designed to allow us to help disadvantaged students by further supporting their progress and the exam results they achieve.

Schools get Pupil Premium funding based on the number of pupils on-roll who:-

  • are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or have been at any point in the last six years.
  • have a parent currently serving in His Majesty’s Forces or is retired on a MoD pension.
  • have left local authority care through adoption, a special guardianship order (SCO) or child arrangement order.

It is for us to decide how the Pupil Premium Grant is spent since we are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individuals within our responsibility. We recognise that not all students who are academically and socially disadvantaged are registered to receive funding and we reserve the right to use this funding to support any student or group of students who we identify as being disadvantaged.
