Netball Academy

Netball Academy in association with Saracens Mavericks

A two-year course  adapted to suit the individual needs based on ability and personal targets. We invite applications from current netball players of all levels who are looking to improve their skill or require assistance with higher level training and fitness development.

The curriculum accommodates a minimum of three hours a week coaching including a technical session, strength and conditioning and team play.  Students receive a bespoke training programme with ongoing support to achieve their goals whilst studying either a two year academic or vocational course. There is the opportunity to gain a minimum level 1 netball coaching award and/or level C grade umpiring qualification.

"As a new student at Great Baddow High School, the Netball Academy helped me build new friendships but also focused me on my goals and helped me realise what it takes to become a confident netball player. It's great for me as an A Level student, promoting a healthy balance between studying and my aspirations in netball." Sixth Form student

Our students receive quality access to Saracens Mavericks coaching master classes and resources for the duration of the course as well as concessionary tickets to home super league netball matches.

The course is delivered by experienced netball coaches including former Saracens Mavericks and international player Vicky Sweeting who will be head of the programme. Vicky has had a netball career playing at the highest level and first represented U18 England schools in 1992 and in 2000 was selected into the senior England team. Vicky is an experienced qualified Level 2 UKCC netball coach and is part of the Saracens Mavericks pathway coaching team. Vicky Sweeting is also currently the Head Coach of Chelmsford Netball club who have won Division One for the last two years.
