Open Evening

The Great Baddow High School Annual Open Evening for prospective students and parents took place on Tuesday 24th September 2024.

If you have a child in Year 6 and were unable to attend our Open Evening, we are currently offering daytime tours of our school. These provide the opportunity to have a guided tour to see the school while we are open and speak with a member of our Senior Leadership Team.

School Tours

During September and October we offer daytime tours of the school for Year 6 students and their parents who are considering Great Baddow High School for September 2025 entrance.

Parent tours will commence on Thursday 26 September 2024 and these will be limited to 8 students plus 2 parent/carers for each tour.

Please note that there is no parking available on site and visitors will need to park elsewhere in the surrounding area.

Please contact us on 01245 265821 to book your place on a tour.

If you want to find out more, there is a wealth of information on our website including general information for parents, our curriculum and exam results or copies of our termly newsletter Magnus. Please note that applications for secondary school places must be submitted by 31st October 2024.

It is the responsibility of parents to make an application for their child’s secondary school place via the Essex County Council application process. It is not necessary to wait to receive an application form or a letter before you apply.

Sport Selection Scheme

The Sports Selection Scheme is for students who do not meet criteria 1,2, 3 or 4 in our admission policy.

If your child does not have a sibling already at Great Baddow High School, you do not live or attend a school within our priority admission area, or attend Barnes Farm, Chancellor Park and St. Andrew’s Hatfield Peverel, you can apply for admission through the Sports Selection Scheme.

Up to 10% of Year 7 students will be selected for places at Great Baddow High School on the basis of aptitude for sport.

A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for entry to Great Baddow High School through the Sport Selection Scheme will need to be completed and submitted to Great Baddow High School, following which, your child will be invited to take part in the sports selection day.
