We are continuing to experience issues with our water supply. While we have secured a limited amount of water for the site, this means we can only accommodate a small number of students and staff on-site on Thursday 15th January. Our apologies for the day-by-day updates; we ask for your understanding as we endeavour to make sound decisions on behalf of the students, parents and GBHS staff. 

Thursday 15th January 2026

  • School will be open for Year 11 and Year 13 students only.

All students in these year groups are expected to attend as normal. Lessons will follow the usual timetable. Students should adhere to normal school uniform policy.

  • English revision and MyTutor sessions will take place after school.
  • All other clubs and detentions are cancelled.
  • Year 13 Criminology Exams will go ahead as planned.Students sitting these exams should arrive by 8:40am to register in the Sixth Form Common Room before the exam begins.
  • Year 11 Functional Skills Exams will go ahead on Friday 16th. Please note this is a change from the original date of Thursday 15th.

Students working from home: 

Students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 will continue remote learning from home and work will be set via EduLink.

Resolving the water issue is still ongoing, please be reassured that we are making arrangements to resume normal practice as soon as possible and we will update you as soon as we have further information to share.
