Sixth Form students at Great Baddow High School recently took part in an engaging and informative Gambling Awareness Workshop, designed to help young people understand the risks associated with gambling and recognise the potential impact it can have on individuals, families and communities.

The session provided students with an opportunity to explore how gambling has evolved in recent years, particularly through the growth of online platforms, gaming features and social media influences. Students learnt about the warning signs of gambling-related harm, the importance of making informed decisions, and where support can be accessed if they or someone they know needs help.

Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to think critically about the prevalence of gambling in modern society and the ways in which advertising, technology and peer influences can affect decision-making. The interactive session prompted thoughtful discussion and gave students practical knowledge to help them navigate these issues safely and responsibly.

Their expertise and openness helped bring the topic to life, ensuring that students left with a greater understanding of the risks associated with gambling and the importance of seeking support when needed.
