12th Feb 2021 Announcement

It has been a very challenging start to 2021 but as a school community we have demonstrated great resolve in facing the challenges posed by the pandemic. We really miss having all our students in school but recognise the importance of keeping everyone safe during, what we hope is, the final period of lockdown.

Your feedback regarding remote learning has been invaluable in allowing us to adapt and enhance our practice and together we have increased engagement and allowed our students to make good progress. The approach to home learning is very different from Spring/Summer 2020. A five-period day has helped maintain a familiar structure for learning whilst teachers are working hard to provide lessons that enrich learning using a variety of online platforms.

The Government have identified the 8th March as a potential date for our students to return to school. A Government review is taking place on the 22nd February, so I am hopeful that I will be able to clarify the position to you after the half term break.

Everything our students have done to date will provide an invaluable foundation to build on when they return to school. I would like to thank everyone for sticking to the task and supporting one another during these unprecedented times.

We hope the half term serves as a well-earned break so that we are all refreshed to tackle what, we hope, will be the last hurdle in overcoming the pandemic.

Take care and stay safe,

Paul Farmer

Please Note: It is half term next week and the school will be shut to all students from 15th to 19th February.
