Congratulations to Elena (8E3) on receiving a ‘Special Recognition’ certificate on her outstanding achievement of 410 credits in Year 7.
Elena has shown great character, determination, and resilience in her attitude to work and learning and the Headteacher was delighted to present her with her certificate this week.
In support of the award, Elena's teachers commented on her hard work and commitment to her studies in Year 7 and a few of their quotes, which were received from teachers across the whole curriculum, can be seen below.
Congratulations Elena!
‘We are thrilled with Elena's considerable achievement. She is an inspiration to her classmates and we are very proud of her commitment to her studies. We are looking forward to seeing how she shines in Year 8.’ Miss Coffey Head of Year 7
‘In science, Elena always completed her work to the highest standard and with 100% effort. Her work is always presented beautifully. During lockdown she particularly excelled, completing all pieces of work set and doing an excellent science project about different types of birds.’ Miss Moore
‘Elena is a fantastic asset to the Music Department and demonstrates skills well-above her age. She is currently working at a GCSE standard and has gradings in instruments that are of an A Level standard. Elena plays the drums, is Grade 5 Clarinet, Grade 5 Guitar and Grade 7 of 8 on Piano. To achieve such qualifications by the age of 12 is remarkable and all of these achievements Elena has completed in her personal time whilst maintaining exceedingly high levels of work across the curriculum, being a significant member of the sport and music departments, and performing regularly as a soloist and in the ensemble for the school and in competition.’ Mr Bentley
‘Elena is an extremely able and enthusiastic artist. She takes a keen interest in art and appears to enjoy and understand all aspects of the work. Elena always shows great pride and care in her work and confidently tries any new technique she is introduced to. She goes above and beyond to achieve some really sophisticated outcomes.’ Miss Mitchell
