UK Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Junior Maths Challenge
Back to Latest NewsOn Tuesday 23rd of June, Great Baddow High School successfully participated in the online UK Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Junior Maths Challenge with thirty of our brightest Year 7 and Year 8 mathematicians.
(Normally the Maths Department runs the Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC) in school around this time of the year)
This is a national/ international competition run by UK Mathematical Trust and consists of a 60-minute multiple choice questions. It encourages students to really think mathematically, be precise, and solve interesting challenging problems.
The results were outstanding with the following top scorers:
Alex H: GoldBiS (An amazing result, scoring 135 out of 135)
Rachel N: Gold
Alex G: SilverBiY
James R and Ellen S: Silver
Ben S, Archie A, Charlotte B, Zachary H, Albert OP, Jasmine TH, Emma C and Lenny G: Bronze
The candidates who scored Gold would progress to compete internationally in the UK Mathematical Trust Maths Olympiad; alas, due to the COVID19 circumstances it is cancelled.
