On Monday 6th December, our annual Christmas Service at Chelmsford Cathedral returned to kick-start the festivities at Great Baddow High School.

The evening was filled with Music, Drama and Art with performances from the one hundred and one students who participated. A festive mural was displayed at the back of the Cathedral showcasing the Christmas card entries for all to enjoy prior to the performances.

We had wonderful solos from Rosie B, Jasmine A, Noah P, Kudak T, Ellie T, Charlotte G, Elena W, Jess V and Megan H and we thank these students for their individual
contributions to the evening. Instrumental ensembles gave rousing renditions of ‘Away in a Manger’, ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’.

Budding Year 7 and 8 students gave a short drama sketch based around ‘A Christmas Story’ the musical, whilst the Musical Theatre Choir continued the West End theme with an item from Matilda. Top Secret Choir, Rock Choir and Chamber Choir all performed as well, singing with high spirits and joy. The stars of the show were the Year 7s who sang ‘I’ve Lived’ by One Republic before also contributing to the finale piece ‘You Will Be Found’ which featured all participants. We will be recording the latter soon to share with all students and parents of Great Baddow High School.

We would like to thank everyone that came to support the students and join in with our traditional carols. It was a lovely evening and we are grateful for all the well wishes and praise sent our way since the Service.
