Our scholars, who completed their assignments earlier this year, had an opportunity to visit another university this week, travelling to Falmer, just outside of Brighton to visit the University of Sussex.

Accompanied by Mrs Baker, Mr Lewis and Ruby (a past Year 13 student last year who has just finished her first year at Sussex University) acted as our tour guide.

We spent the morning looking around the university, visiting the sports centre, library (600,000 books), lecture theatres and accommodation before having lunch in “Eat central”. We spent the afternoon on Brighton sea front getting an idea of what it may be like to study away from home.

Students appreciated the contrast between the city centre university we visited in Cambridge and the campus university of Sussex.

Everyone had a good time and hopefully realise that if higher education is something they wish to pursue when the time comes it is certainly a route open to them.
