Students in Year 7 & 8 were privileged to have the opportunity to experience the depths of our oceans to the furthest points in space.

The @roadshow_team in collaboration with BAE Systems, the Royal Navy and the Royal Airforce put on a spectacular show for our students to enjoy. They got ‘hands on’ exploring some of the engineering puzzles that deep sea and outer space exploration provide. Students were able to understand that the problems posed by each scenario are not  necessarily unique and the innovative ways of solving them can provide answers to similar problems in opposite areas.

The ‘stand out’ wow factor which will not be forgotten is the scaled demonstration of the size of our Sun relative to our Earth. Bringing this concept to life in front of their eyes really captivated their interest and will certainly make that part of the curriculum all the more memorable.

We hope the performance will inspire the next generation of engineers! Who knows? One of our students may be responsible for putting people on Mars within the turn of the decade!
