Year 10

Students follow either a Triple Science (3 separate GCSE’s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics) or Combined Science (2 GCSE’s with Biology, Chemistry and Physics content) pathway in Key Stage 4. Each element of Science is taught by a specialist in that area so students will have 3 teachers for their Science lessons.

The core element of Key Stage 4 includes English Language, English Literature, Maths and BTEC Information Technology along with non-examined lessons of PE, RE and PD.

Students have 3 option choices, at least one of which must be an EBacc Subject (History, Geography, Spanish, German, Computer Science)

The EBacc (English Baccalaureate) is a suite of academic subjects that are considered essential to many degrees and open many doors of opportunity. The government’s ambition is to see 75% of young people studying the EBacc by 2022, and 90% by 2025.

Students receive 50 one hour lessons each fortnight.
