26th Mar 2021 Announcement

Dear Parent,

We have come to the end of one of the strangest and most challenging spring terms in recent times. It has been wonderful to see how quickly students have reintegrated back into school life and with onsite Covid 19 testing behind us there are fewer disruptions and a real focus or learning.

Please be mindful that regular home Covid19 testing and the recording of results is an essential part of the process over the Easter period to maintain our fight against the virus and keep us all safe in readiness to return to school on 12th April.

We are really looking forward to what we hope will be a settled summer term. A return to consistent structures and the opportunity to access a wider range of activities, as restrictions are eased, will see our students flourish and make progress at pace. The Easter edition of Magnus highlights the endeavours and success of our students during the Spring Term and a series of celebration events will follow throughout the summer term to recognise their efforts and achievements.

We are aware that our Year 11 and 13 cohorts will be undertaking important assessments during the next half term that will help to determine their final grades. Revision sessions have been scheduled over the Easter period and full details for revision and assessment have been included in separate letter that will be emailed to parents.

We can now confirm the end of year leaving arrangements for our examination cohorts following the Government’s announcement of the submission deadline for Teacher Assessed Grades. This means that Year 13 students will be leaving school on 27th May and Year 11 students will be departing on the 28th May. It is important to note that students may be invited back into school up until 11th June in order to finalise their grade submissions.

We have a very busy and important summer term ahead. However, the Easter break is equally important to refresh and spend quality time with our families. I hope that everyone has a restful Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone in two weeks time.

Take care and stay safe,

Paul Farmer
