Welcome to Great Baddow High School: a happy, safe and successful 11-18 school of which we are very proud.

Whether you are a prospective parent or considering applying for a job, I hope that you will find the information on this website helpful.  However, I also strongly recommend that you visit us during the working day in order to get a real understanding of our school. We would be delighted to show you around our attractive site so that you can see students and teachers working together in well-equipped, specialist classrooms, using modern technologies and resources. 

Our curriculum, enhanced by many enrichment opportunities, clubs, trips and visits, is broad and varied.  We aim to support students in achieving their potential both academically and as well-rounded, confident individuals; we are equally committed to the professional development of our staff.

Many of our students progress into our Sixth Form where they are joined by others from elsewhere.  They make an important contribution to the life of the school, involving themselves in wide range of activities including World Challenge, and supporting younger students in a variety of ways.  Sixth formers enjoy their own common room, café and study area.

Great Baddow High School is a specialist sports college and a centre of excellence; our facilities include an in-door swimming pool, dance studio, fitness suite and athletics track. Our students enjoy sporting success at district and national level and benefit from an exceptional extra-curricular programme.

Our annual Sports Day is on Friday 7th June.  On the 5th and 6th June students will be taking part in tournaments, including badminton, rounders, netball and football.
You are invited to attend our annual Art Exhibition on Thursday 27th June from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.  This is an opportunity for students to bring their families along to view their work. 
A reminder that school will end at the normal time next Friday, 24th May, for half-term.
We were delighted that Olympic gold medalist, sprinter Jason Gardener,visited the school recently to officially open our new athletics facilities. Students were also able to take part in a training session with Jason.
As a result of the recent parents' ballot the following three new parent governors were elected:

Mr Jared Hughes
Mrs Zarica MCabe

We hope they will find their new roles rewarding and enjoyable.



Congratulations to our Year 8 basketball team which has reached the national finals.  Well done.

The latest version of Magnus is out now.

Over £1500 was raised by students and staff on Red Nose Day.  The money is being split 50/50 between Comic Relief and the British Heart Foundation.
Congratulations to our students on their performances at the recent Gym and Dance Display.  Over one hundred students took part and the display was enjoyed by parents, staff and governors.  Photographs will be available on the website very soon.
